If you want great stereo without wasting time, I have a few tips.
- Streamer/DAC. This is where the audio signal starts and is sent to the amplifier… some are built into speakers but I’m focusing on separate components. The Orchard Audio Pecan Pi Streamer is excellent for the price, but cherry on top is that it’s a ROON Endpoint. ROON is PC or MAC software that has the ability to upscale the signal from streaming sites like Tidal and Qobuz. That’s a LOT of info for one bullet point.
- Amplifier – most people won’t need more than 100 watts and even less if the speakers are efficient.
