Health Care Price?

Collectivism and Nationalism

Actually there are many references that we are NOT even founded as a “Nation”.

We are a Federal Constitutional Republic comprising fifty states, and each state was meant to be sovereign and there was expected to be many “nations” within the states. (Cherokee Nation, etc…)

What we are bordering on now due to the massive intrusion by the unlimited power of our centralized government is the singular “United State”.

The Pledge of Allegiance was a tipping point where the idea of “one nation (under GOD none the less)” took firm hold. This is a HUGE mistake because we are many nations (and some people don’t believe in God). If all Atheist had a similar culture they could be their own nation as well. The only thing that we should be able to agree on is “liberty and justice for all” which was the purpose of the pledge (united for liberty). Only later religious collectivists added (under God). (Once upon a time the requirement to be American was to denounce the king and pledge allegiance to the Constitution).

Stirling Engine..

I want one for my back yard! Oh.. I don’t have a back yard. Doh!

Give me a break!

John Stossel does it again! I think this is old but you should probably watch it again. The IPCC are NOT scientists. They are activists and politicians.

The Role of Government

When Hawaii tried to provide health care free of charge to children, the program went bankrupt. Reality is that you cannot give something away and expect for it to be used efficiently and conservatively.

This is precisely why the rule in the constitution that says what is not listed as the federal government’s responsibility is left up to the individual states. The Federal Government can print money without regard to efficiency or conservation (and risk our prosperity in the process). Under the new system, we will replace some fat of the insurance companies with a massive bureaucracy that neither provides health care better or cheaper or fair. Since it cannot go bankrupt until the whole country does, we are giving our right to health care (they will determine how much we get) and our general welfare (the economy, stupid) over to the Federal Government.

There is a way for the Federal Government to implement a plan that does not introduce inefficiency and encourages competition for lower prices and better service. If only they follow these rules…

1. A corporation should not gain any benefit that an individual cannot. If corporations can buy health care for employees and not pay taxes on it, and individual should be able to do the same for himself.

2. Wealth should not be taken unless it is distributed evenly. In this way, the government will not need to set up a bureaucracy to determine what people get and how they spend it. 320 million people making their own best choices have a far better chance of choosing what is better for them than a million government experts. No reason to pay government to give us money, just give us the money.

Inconvienient Truth

Institut Pasteur (Paris) Professor Paul Reiter seemed to sum up the sentiments of many experts when he labelled the film “pure, mind-bending propaganda.” Such reactions should certainly cause Canadians to wonder if Nobel Prize-winning French novelist Andre Gide had a point when he advised, “Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it.”

Albert Einstein once said, “Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of truth and knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.”

In a recent video interview, Congressman Ron Paul gave detailed answers to questions posed online by members of Reddit.com. When asked to elaborate his position on network neutrality regulation, Paul responded that he did not know the details of the legislation, but that he was against regulation and this situation didn’t appear to be any different from those he was familiar with.

The Perspective Of A Russian Immigrant

In the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, I was taught to believe individual pursuits are selfish and sacrificing for the collective good is noble.
In kindergarten we sang songs about Lenin, the leader of the Socialist Revolution. In school we learned about the beautiful socialist system, where everybody is equal and everything is fair; about ugly capitalism, where people are exploited and treat each other like wolves in the wilderness.
Life in the USSR modeled the socialist ideal. God-based religion was suppressed and replaced with cultlike adoration for political figures.
The government-assigned salary of the proletariat (blue-collar worker) was 30%-50% higher then any professional. Without incentive to improve their life, professionals drank themselves to oblivion. They — engineers, lawyers, doctors, teachers — earned a government-determined salary that barely covered the necessities, mainly food.
